Other local attractions include the Strathspey Steam Railway which runs from Aviemore to Boat of Garten and the new Funicular Railway at Cairngorm.
Museums telling the highland story are dotted over the local area at Duftown, Tomintoul, Strathpeffer, Newtonmore and Kingussie.
The local area has been sculpted by glaciers and many examples of glacial action and associated formations exist nearby.
